Matt Mistretta was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he attended St. Michael's High School. As a high school and collegiate baseball player, Matt Mistretta achieved all-state and all-conference academic honors. Matt graduated from Mississippi College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology with focus in Sports Management. After acquiring a Master’s Degree from LSU in Kinesiology with a focus in Pedagogy/Psychological Sciences in 2015, Matt accepted a video scout analyst intern role with one of the most well respected data and analytical companies in the professional baseball industry, Baseball Info Solutions (BIS). After concluding his internship at BIS, Coach Mistretta spent the 2017-2020 seasons working in Player Development for the Seattle Mariners, Minnesota Twins,and Cincinnati Reds. During this time, he gained experience in all facets of player development at the professional level (coaching, video, data/analytics, mental performance, advance scouting, strength/conditioning). Coach Mistretta spent the winter of 2019-2020 with the Oregon State University Baseball Program working as a Baseball Performance Specialist centered around mental performance, advanced scouting, and player development/evaluation for the 2020 season. Coach Mistretta returned home to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in March of 2020 to create "Total Diamond Performance". TDP's mission is to implement a holistic development approach for the baseball and softball player by utilizing the latest advancements in coaching, video, technology, mental performance, and strength-agility training.
Nick Shnider grew up in Burke, Virginia just outside of Washington, D.C. After graduating high school, he attended West Virginia University (WVU) and played for the Club Baseball team for four years. After completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast/Multimedia Journalism at WVU in 2015, he had the opportunity to work in the Player Development Department for the Washington Nationals organization. His role in player development with the Washington Nationals prepared him for his current role as one of the lead instructors and coaches with Total Diamond Performance and the Louisiana Mariners since the 2021 season. Nick’s baseball expertise is in hitting and infield play, as well as assisting mental performance training. Nick is the oldest of two children. He has a younger sister, Sydney. and his parents, Debbie and Ivan, are currently living back in Burke, Virginia. Nick and his fiance' Emily will be getting married on April 1st of next year.
Robert Aaron Podorsky was born and raised in Prairieville, Louisiana where he attended Dutchtown High School where he played baseball lettering three years as a middle infielder. He was awarded All-District and All-State honors throughout his tenure. Post high school, he received scholarship offers from Southeastern Louisiana University, Nichols State University, and the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM). He chose to attend ULM, redshirting his first year and elected for right labrum shoulder surgery. His second year he hit .238 avg. in 42 at-bats playing the outfield. Rob chose to transfer to Delgado Community College under Coach Joe Scheuermann for the 2016 season after ULM made a midseason coaching change the previous year. Podorsky had a second shoulder surgery in the fall but managed to hit .449 avg. and 14 stolen bases in 89 at-bats playing centerfield. Two weeks after the Delgado season ended, McNeese’s Head Baseball Coach, Justin Hill, contacted Robbie with an opportunity to further his baseball and academic career. In 2017, Podorsky hit .323 avg. in 235 at-bats winning a conference regular season title and was selected as the Second Team All-Southland Conference centerfielder. His biggest feat was breaking the single season stolen base record at McNeese and leading all NCAA (2017) in stolen bases with 39 stolen bases. Rob was selected in the 25th round of the 2017 Draft by the San Diego Padres. Robert Podorsky has since played parts of 5 seasons of professional baseball with a career batting average of .323 and 69 stolen bases in 719 at bats reaching as high as the AAA-level. During his time in professional baseball, Rob battled two additional shoulder surgeries and a lower back injury. Rob’s career allowed him to travel to Canada, Mexico, and Australia playing professional baseball. His focus now is helping his wife, Chelsea, raise their newborn son, John Paul, and giving back to the youth through various aspects of coaching.
Cole Morrison was born in Columbia, Missouri. His family moved back to Louisiana where they are from when he was 4, where he grew up for the rest of his childhood. Cole attended high school at Dutchtown in Geismar, LA, and lived right around the corner from where Total Diamond Performance is located for 14 years. Cole played 4 years of baseball at Dutchtown and lettering 2 of those years as an outfielder and received All-District honors. After graduating in 2018, Cole then went and played one year at Loomis Chaffee in Windsor, Connecticut where he hit .400 with a .444 OBP and .880 slugging. Cole then got the opportunity to play baseball at The United States Military Academy at West Point where he studied Computer Science with a specialization in Cyber Security. In the fall of his freshman year, he slipped a disk in his lower back and after 2 years of battling his injury decided to return home where he is now coaching with Total Diamond Performance and hoping to extend the opportunities he received to the younger generation of baseball players and to share the knowledge he has gained.
Cole was born and raised in Greenwell Springs, Louisiana. He attended St. Michael High School and played all four years at the varsity level. Cole participated in leadership roles while at St. Michaels as an ambassador for the school and captain of the baseball team his senior year. In his four years at St. Michaels cole contributed as an infieldter, catcher and pitcher. During his senior year, he had a successful season on the bump, achieving 1st team all-district as a pitcher. He helped lead his team to the playoffs, and collected a playoff win on the bump against St. Thomas Moore. At the end of his senior season, he received three awards: one being his 3rd varsity letter, second being 1st team all-district pitcher, and most significantly, the Warrior Tradition Award. The Warrior Tradition Award is given to the student athlete that takes a leadership role on the team, someone who puts the team before himself, and someone who has the warrior spirit at heart. Cole graduated from St. Michael High School in 2021. He pursued an opportunity to play college baseball, but had to retire as a player due to a shoulder injury. He is now at LSU, studying Kinesiology, in pursuit of going to PA school. His first coaching experiences took place during the 2022 baseball season, being the assistant coach for Matt Mistretta and the Louisiana Mariners. Cole prioritizes his relationship to God and his family. One phrase he lives by is “God first, family, then baseball”. He lives and breathes baseball and gives every ounce of himself for the betterment of his players. Within the past year, Cole has been an instructor for Total Diamond Performance and will be taking the role of a Head Coach for the Louisiana Mariners in the upcoming 2023 season
We'd like to welcome Jacob Doyle as our newest addition to the TDP Coaching Staff!! Jacob played baseball at Dutchtown for 4 years, while lettering 2 of those years as a pitcher, receiving All-District honors his senior year. Jacob received the opportunity to play baseball at Belhaven University, majoring in Sports Management, and is currently working towards a master’s degree. After 4 years at Belhaven, Jacob will be returning home to pursue his passion of developing the younger generation of baseball players while sharing his experiences during his time playing baseball. Jacob will be implementing a modern-day philosophy of pitching at Total Diamond Performance.

We are proud to announce Will Reed as the newest addition to the TDP staff! Will was a member of Dutchtown Baseball where he earned all-district and all-metro honors as a utility player his junior. His senior year he earned all-district, all-parish, and all-metro honors. After graduating from Dutchtown in 2019 he continued his baseball career at Delgado Community College where he helped the Dolphins reach consecutive super regional appearances. Will concluded his baseball career playing Division I baseball at Northwestern State University where he helped the Demons reach their conference tournament two years in a row. Will returns home to develop pitchers at all levels. Welcome, Coach Will Reed! .
